Plot_

Fully self-sufficient city ships are the best way to travel through the stars! Now that Earth's military has perfected the technology, the civilian ship line is ready to depart. They have it all, restaurants, department stores, apartment blocks, theaters, roller rinks, and more! The crown jewel? Each ship's ambassador is one of Earth's most beloved pop-stars. These stars are examples of the civilian ship's dedication to providing all the comforts of Earth for permeant residence as well as those traveling to the colonies. However, they are also walking advertisements for another newly perfected technology, transferring human consciousnesses to fully synthetic android bodies.After transferring from a military ship to one of the new civilian ships at his sister's request, Payne is assigned to the security detail of the ships new ambassador. His sister, the ships director, has her misgivings about the ambasitor project, and the companies behind it. So not only is it his job to keep the new ambassador safe from political threats, plots, and obsessed fans, but also to keep a close eye on the companies and people involved.What should be a relatively easy job for a retired army man becomes more and more risky, as Payne is dragged deeper into the surprisingly dangerous life of a superstar.
